A.C. Whyte & Co. Ltd are a quality focused main contractor in the major refurbishment of low and high rise occupied social housing for Local Authorities and Housing Associations across Scotland and the UK. The business specialises in installing external wall insulation and every project is designed to maximise energy efficiency and dramatically reduce fuel bills. The business has been family owned since its inception in 1973, and is now run by Jennifer Phin, Managing Director, a member of the second generation to work in the business. A.C. Whyte & Co. is now of a scale and complexity that has created the opportunity to appoint an HR professional to join the Senior Management Team, bringing operational and strategic leadership to all people elements of the business. The purpose of this appointment is to add value through driving the people focused culture and values of the organisation.

A key driver in this appointment is the desire to further develop a high performing and positive culture throughout the business, enabling those in Head Office and out on site to live and breathe company culture and values. The Head of HR will also play a key role in creating a joined-up approach across marketing, communications and HR, to optimise employee engagement, drive recruitment strategy and to firmly position A.C. Whyte & Co. as an employer of choice.

The Head of HR should ideally have experience of an early stage HR function, be full of ideas, with high levels of emotional intelligence and be as comfortable in the hands on, day to day elements of the role as they are in the higher level strategic and leadership elements.
