‘Providing access to justice for over 500 years’

The Faculty of Advocates is the professional body to which all Advocates in Scotland belong. It has a rich and significant history, dating back to the 16th century, and promotes and supports the administration of justice and the rule of law in Scotland. The Faculty is responsible for the criteria and procedures for admission/removal to the public office of Advocates, and regulating the professional practice, conduct and discipline of Advocates.

Situated in Parliament House, the Faculty maintains the Advocates’ Library, the Abbotsford Library and extensive collection of artworks and artefacts connected with Scotland’s legal history. The organisation also consists of Faculty Services Limited which provides a range of clerking and administrative services to Advocates.

The Faculty is looking to appoint a Head of Members’ Services, to play a key role in a period of quite significant change for the organisation, ensuring that the Faculty is well positioned to meet the current and future requirements of its members (Advocates). The objective is to redefine member experience, modernise process and maximise the effectiveness of relationships internally.

Suitable candidates will be required to demonstrate a robust but empathetic style of leadership, strong influencing skills, gravitas and change management. There is a strong preference to attract someone with a background in Customer Service/Contact Centre from the Private Sector, with a demonstrable track record of innovation, operational improvement, project management and identifying new ways to help drive a culture of customer orientation. The Head of Members’ Services will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

Interested candidates should send their CV, with full remuneration details, to Graham Burns, of FWB Park Brown at fwb@fwbparkbrown.com.  For a confidential discussion, please call 0131 539 7087.
