Walkers Shortbread is one of Scotland’s most iconic and respected companies.

We are looking to appoint an exceptional Head of Production to shape and structure the production side of our business moving forward. This will include overseeing the management and smooth running from planning, production through to despatch. As part of the Senior Management Team, you will have a keen eye for aligning capacity, efficiency, and output to meet market demand as well as exciting growth targets.

Reporting to the Managing Director, this role requires a clear presence and hands on approach to ensure production activity is lead efficiently.  You will be responsible for the running and strategic planning of the production areas, ensuring KPIs are set and met ensuring customer expectations are achieved and exceeded.  The Head of Production will take responsibility for taking the production team through a continuous improvement and value stream mapping journey.

The production function comprises 850 people across 6 production units, each of which is run by an experienced manager.  The Head of Production will work closely with this experienced team, pulling them together with a strong focus on operational excellence and growth.

Candidates should have a background in strategic and operational leadership experience at management team level as well as a good understanding of engineering, lean manufacturing and OEE.  You should have ambition and drive and excellent communication, problem resolution and people management skills.
