Head of Organisational Development & Change Management

About the role

The Scottish Qualification Authority is Scotland’s national awarding and accreditation body.  SQA are trusted to oversee thousands of qualifications that are available in schools, colleges and workplaces, not just in this country, but around the world.

We are currently assisting SQA with the appointment of a Head of Organisational Development & Change Management.  In essence, this role will work across the organisation and provide strategic leadership of the OD function to ensure a planned and comprehensive process that aims to enhance overall capability, performance and effectiveness of their people.

Specifically, the role will entail OD strategy, employee engagement, organisational design, workforce planning, policy implementation, and supporting business unit heads in the operational implementation of OD and Change initiatives, as well as of course leading OD functions.  Ultimately, the role have a remit to transform how the organisation performs through effective delivery of organisational development strategies.

What we are looking for is significant experience of leading organisation development and culture change across large and complex organisation.  An understanding of current thought leadership and practice of organisational design, organisational development and change is a pre-requisite, as is a solid understanding of the impact of effective OD and performance improvement.  Strong communication skills and a capacity to effectively manage multiple stakeholders are essential, as is a demonstrable track record in OD and Change delivery.
