Non-Executive Directors

About the role

Places for People Scotland is one of the country’s leading providers of affordable, quality homes.

We create places to live, places to work, places to relax, places to think and places to play.  We invest and innovate so that people and communities across Scotland can thrive today, and long into the future.

We are committed to investing in the long-term sustainability of Scotland’s communities and neighbourhoods. We make places where community comes first, and home starts long before you reach the front door.

As one of Scotland’s leading housing associations we manage around 8,500 homes for almost 10,500 customers across the country. We are rooted in communities and committed to delivering affordable homes to meet the needs of individuals and families.

Over the next three years we will invest £200m creating over 1,200 new homes for people to live in. These are ambitious plans, and we will work with governments, both national and local, partners in the housing industry and our own workforce to deliver them.

Formed from three organisations with decades of housing experience between them, we’re a modern, progressive, not-for-profit business committed to the long-term success of our neighbourhoods, and to delivering services that lets our customers live their best lives.

We are looking to appoint 2 new Non-Executive Directors to our Scotland Board:

  • An experienced Finance Director to work with the current Chair of Audit and Risk
  • An experienced Director with a background in M&A/Business Development

For both roles, some knowledge and connections within the housing market would be very useful, but not essential.

These are non-remunerated roles, both with the potential to move into remunerated Chair/Committee Chair roles in the future.  We are looking for people who will be hugely enthused by the strong Places for People  purpose and contributing to a great cause.

Our SPIRIT values – Support/Positive/Integrity/Respect/Innovation/Together – are at the centre of our strategy and focus and we are looking for candidates who are strongly aligned with these values.
