KCA Deutag is one of the world’s leading drilling and engineering contractors working onshore and offshore with a focus on safety, quality and operational performance. The business operates approximately 110 drilling rigs in 20 countries, either directly or through our affiliates, employing more than 9,000 people in Africa, Europe, Russia, the Middle East, the Caspian Sea and Canada.

The role of the Senior Legal Counsel, Ethics & Compliance is to lead the KCA Deutag Group’s activities in matters relating to ethics and compliance. The individual will support the General Counsel and the Head of Legal and work with the Corporate Privacy Officer and the Head of Internal Audit.

On a day-to-day basis, the Senior Legal Counsel, Ethics & Compliance will work to offer direct support and legal advice to Senior Management within the KCA Deutag Group. He/she will be supported by local external counsel where approved in accordance with KCA Deutag Group external legal advisors policy.

The successful candidate will have significant years’ post qualification experience focused on front line advice on ethics and compliance matters at a senior level. This role would suit individuals with a demonstrable experience and deep understanding of the key aspects of general anti-bribery laws (principally UK Bribery Act but knowledge of the US FCPA is desirable), data protection and privacy issues and ideally export control / sanctions issues and market abuse issues.

UK location can be flexible with regular visits to Aberdeen and an ability to travel internationally.
