Site Director, Muirhall

About the role

Based in Muirhall, West Calder.

The North British Distillery Company was established in 1885 and is a producer of grain whisky spirit sold to global customers for blending purposes. Significant quantities of North British grain whisky are included in many well-known brands.   The company operates a large maturation warehousing site at Muirhall, West Calder with automated facilities for filling and disgorging casks.

We are looking to recruit a Site Director for the West Calder facility who will have responsibility for overseeing the day to day activities of the entire customer logistics and warehousing aspects of the business, leading the site in achieving operational excellence and ensuring first class services to all internal and external customers.

The Site Director will create a long-term strategic vision for the Company’s warehousing and customer service areas and will lead a team of c.80 people in Warehouse Operations, Planning and Customer Service, Engineering and Facilities.  Working closely with the Continuous Improvement Director, the Site Director will identify and implement site improvement projects, monitoring progress to encourage positive, sustainable change.

We are looking for candidates who will take ownership for the Muirhall Site and who can positively influence and challenge across all levels of the business from shop floor to boardroom.  You should have a proven track record in a similar leadership role and a solid knowledge of LEAN principles.   Experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment is desirable but not essential.  Candidates must have a strong business sense and the tenacity and motivation to drive change, instilling a strong sense of accountability across the site.
