The North British Distillery Company was established in 1885 and is a producer of grain whisky spirit sold to global customers for blending purposes. Significant quantities of North British grain whisky are included in many well-known brands. The company is capable of producing more than 70 million litres of whisky per year and has a long standing reputation within the Scotch whisky industry for the quality, flexibility and innovation of its operations.
The business is looking to recruit a Site Engineering Manager – one of the core roles in the Edinburgh Manufacturing Management Team – who will have responsibility for planning, execution, review and optimisation of all maintenance activity on the Distillery Site and will work closely with the Technical and Production teams to develop and deliver plans that are optimised from a total Operations perspective.
The Site Engineering Manager will develop and implement a Maintenance Strategy for the Distillery site that delivers cost-effective ownership and availability of the asset base. Delivery of this strategy will be achieved through a mix of internal and third party resource, and will feature best-in-class engineering standards and maintenance techniques. Inherent within the strategy and techniques is robust and effective planning for maintenance activity carried out both within normal periods of production and during plant shut-downs.
The prospective appointee must be able to display strong abilities in leadership, commercial awareness and have a successful track record of operating in a challenging production environment where safety, quality, customer service and environmental management are paramount.
Applications are invited from qualified professionals with relevant background and experience in the Scotch whisky or other manufacturing industries.
