Purpose of Role
The Talent & OD Consultant is responsible for the talent management process and ecosystem that will deliver the overall talent strategy. He or she will design, deliver and implement talent development interventions and talent programmes with inspiring, engaging, inclusive and high impact interventions.
The successful candidate will be an experienced OD practitioner, highly capable of leading OD projects arising from the People Strategy and annual People priorities. An example being, supporting the business to deliver a high-performance culture through the review and implementation of an appropriate performance management system.
Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities:
- Develop, manage and ensure effectiveness of the talent management processes in support of the talent strategy
- Identification of new and innovative approaches to ensuring talent management outcomes which meet the needs of a changing organisation
- Design and manage the delivery of talent development programmes, interventions and resources to develop our leadership pipeline. Working collaboratively with the Learning & Development Consultant as required
- Provision of high-quality assessment methodology and tools, including the evaluation of the effectiveness and impact of these tools. Implement a high-quality approach to assessments, through robust standards, governance and capability development
- Define and implement data insights and analytics that enhances our understanding of the talent pipeline and the impact of talent assessment and development solutions
- Lead on key OD projects as determined by the three-year People Strategy and annual priorities. For example, support the implementation of a performance development culture, improving employee engagement
- Build and maintain effective relationships across the businesses to support the implementation of the talent deal and talent management ecosystem
- Develop key relationships with external providers/external networks and leverage those relationships to provide insights on best practices. Stay abreast of external trends, best practices and technologies that will support the wider business strategy
Education and/or Experience
- Educated to degree level or equivalent level of work experience, preferably in a Human Resources/ Organisation Development related discipline
- Qualified, or equivalent, to British Psychological Society Level A & B with knowledge and experience of a range of psychometric tools
- An experienced talent and OD specialist who can demonstrate full technical competence and apply that within a global, commercial organization to full effect
- High level consulting skills from contracting through to diagnostics and solution design
- Design and implementation of development programmes or experiences that lead to lasting change
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining drive and focus
- Knowledge and experience of talent management digital platforms and tools (e.g. Workday)
- An ability to apply data and analytics to the field of talent and organisation development to drive improvement and demonstrate impact of talent policies and practices; or OD initiatives
- Experienced in working effectively in complex global organisations and managing a wide-ranging stakeholder group, both internally and externally
