Together with our friends at Royal Bank of Scotland and Social Bite, FWB Park Brown co-hosted a lunch event at the Social Bite Village in Edinburgh on Tuesday 14th August 2018. We were joined by in excess of 20 highly influential business leaders from across Scotland to hear Ross McEwan, Chief Executive of Royal Bank of Scotland, and Josh Littlejohn, Founder of Social Bite, speak about their respective organisations.
This marked the third occasion on which Ross McEwan has addressed a group of FWB Park Brown’s connections and the second together with Social Bite. We received an update from Ross about the bank’s journey under his leadership, including some of the steps that it is taking to embrace the pace of change that the advancing digital world is providing and how it is supporting its customers and business in new and innovative ways, including through Espark, Scottish Edge and Rocketspace. Ross also welcomed questions and comments from the room and was particularly interested to hear first-hand about the Scottish economy and to discuss the current sentiment from some of the businesses represented.
Josh Littlejohn spoke inspirationally about the Social Bite Village, which has recently welcomed its first guests and will soon be welcoming the next cohort. The group were able to look around the accommodation and to experience some of the incredible work that Social Bite are doing. Josh also described to the guests some of the upcoming fundraising activity, in particular the Social Bite Sleep in the Park which will take place on 8th December and aims to see 12,000 people sleep under the stars across Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Dundee: https://www.sleepinthepark.co.uk/
