Chief Operating Officer

About the role

OneBanks is a very exciting young Fintech business working with UK banks to provide financial services in locations poorly serviced by existing infrastructure. It is using cutting-edge open banking technologies with world-class software to become the leading shared banking network in the UK, offering customers a wide range of financial services and products. See www.OneBanks.co.uk.

As a shared facility, the cost of operation is designed to be split between multiple institutions and is configured in a way that facilitates quick and easy assembly, enabling rapid set up in high footfall locations like shopping malls, petrol stations, bus or railway termini and convenience stores. Whilst of course this is a very commercial enterprise, we are seeking someone who is also passionate about helping to solve a societal problem as well as helping to scale the business and grow value. It has already received significant support of its strategy and business model through investment, not only from an influential group of private investors, but also with the news that Glory, one of the worlds largest cash technology solutions providers, has taken a significant minority stake. It has also put together a really strong Board.

The COO will play a leading role in operationalising the strategy and will be tasked with planning, directing and overseeing operational policies, frameworks and initiatives to deliver substantial scale. We are looking therefore for a really smart, fast paced and ambitious leader, already with good management experience within a financial institution but who is also up for stepping into a business at the cusp of its potential. This definitely looks like it will be a fantastic journey for the right person. Geography is not important – we don’t mind where this person might be based and equity will be available as part of a remuneration package.
